Life is Worship Studio (the “Company”) establishes and maintains this Privacy Policy to explain how it processes and protects users’ personal information in connection with the Furigana service (the “Service”).

1. Information We Collect

The Company processes the minimum information necessary to provide the Service.

Account information

Email address
Name or nickname
Login provider and account identifier
Registration date, most recent login date and time, and account status

When a user signs in through a social login provider, the Company receives only the information that the user has agreed to share through that provider.

User content and learning records

Original Japanese text submitted by the user
Generated results containing the original text and furigana
Content titles, tags, and classification information
Favorites, reading status, and learning records
Dates and times of creation, modification, and deletion

Stored content and furigana results are generally accessible only to the user who submitted the content through that account.

Subscription and payment information

Current plan
Subscription start, renewal, and end dates
Payment status
Transaction and subscription identifiers
Receipt and refund records

Payment service providers such as Paddle directly process full payment details, including credit card numbers; the Company does not store such information directly.

Service usage information

The following information may be generated or processed automatically when users access or use the Service.

IP address
Browser, device, and operating system information
Cookie and session information
Access logs
Feature usage records
Error and security logs

Customer support and feedback information

When a user contacts customer support or submits feedback, the Company may process the following information.

Email address provided by the user
Inquiry or feedback content
Account or technical information necessary to handle the inquiry

Users under 14 years of age

The Service is not directed to children under 14 years of age, and users under 14 may not register or use account-based services.

The Company does not intentionally collect personal information from children under 14. If the Company confirms that such information has been collected, it will delete the information after completing necessary verification procedures.

2. Purposes of Use

The Company uses collected information for the following purposes.

Registration, login, and account management
Generating furigana and reading information for Japanese text
Storing and retrieving original text and furigana results
Providing personal learning records and favorites
Managing subscriptions, payments, plan changes, cancellations, and refunds
Maintaining service security, troubleshooting errors, and preventing misuse
Handling customer inquiries and disputes
Analyzing service usage and improving features
Complying with legal obligations

The Company does not use Japanese source text or furigana results submitted by a user for advertising, public content recommendations, or artificial intelligence model training without the user’s separate consent.

3. Retention and Deletion of Information

The Company retains personal information for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it is processed.

General retention periods

Account information: retained for seven days after account deactivation, after which the account is deleted
Stored original text and furigana results: retained until the user deletes the result, or for up to seven days after account closure or deactivation, after which they are deleted
Favorites and learning records: retained until the user deletes them, or for up to seven days after account closure or deactivation, after which they are deleted
Temporary data used for generation that is not designated for storage: deleted promptly after processing and no later than 24 hours
Temporary data from failed generation: up to seven days for error investigation and recovery
Access and error logs: three months from the date generated
Customer inquiry and dispute-handling records: three years after the matter is resolved

When a user deletes content, it immediately becomes unavailable through the account. Deleted content is removed from the operational database within seven days and from backup systems within 30 days. The same standards apply when an account is closed.

A deactivated account can be reactivated within the seven-day retention period.

Information retained as required by law

Records that must be retained under applicable law may be separated from other user content and kept for the applicable period as follows.

Records relating to contracts or withdrawal/cancellation: five years
Records relating to payment and the supply of services: five years
Records relating to consumer complaints or dispute resolution: three years

The Company does not retain Japanese source text or furigana results submitted by users merely to preserve statutory transaction records.

Payment and transaction information independently retained by Paddle as Merchant of Record may be kept under Paddle’s privacy policy and applicable law.

Methods of deletion and destruction

When the retention period expires or the purpose of processing has been fulfilled, the Company deletes or destroys personal information without delay unless applicable law requires it to be retained separately.

Personal information in electronic form is deleted using methods designed to make recovery difficult.

Personal information that must be retained for a specified period under applicable law is stored separately from other information and deleted or destroyed when that period ends.

4. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

As a general rule, the Company does not sell or disclose users’ personal information to third parties.

However, the Company may provide personal information to the extent necessary in the following cases.

When the user has consented in advance
When necessary to perform a contract with the user and permitted by applicable law
When provision is required or permitted by law
When urgently necessary to protect a user’s life or safety

Payments through Paddle

Payments for paid services are made through Paddle.

As the Merchant of Record and seller for paid transactions, Paddle transacts directly with users and processes buyer information required for payment processing, recurring billing, tax calculation and collection, receipts, refunds, and fraud prevention.

The Company may exchange the following information with Paddle to the extent necessary to process payments and subscriptions.

Service account or customer identifier
Selected plan
Subscription and transaction identifiers
Payment and subscription status

Paddle directly collects and processes full payment details, including card numbers; the Company does not store such information directly.

Paddle’s processing of personal information may be governed by Paddle’s buyer terms and privacy policy.

5. Outsourced Processing and Cross-Border Transfers of Personal Information

To operate the Service, the Company may outsource certain processing of personal information to external service providers or process and store personal information outside Korea.

These cross-border transfers occur to the extent necessary to provide the Service and perform the contract with the user. The Company discloses required information in this Policy under the Personal Information Protection Act and other applicable laws.

Users may contact the Company regarding cross-border transfers or request that future transfers cease by deleting their account. However, if a user refuses a transfer that is essential for authentication, server operation, content storage, email delivery, payments, or other aspects of providing the Service, the user may be unable to use the relevant feature or the Service as a whole.

The Company will update this Privacy Policy if a service provider changes or if there is a material change to the destination country, categories of information, purpose, or other relevant details.

6. User Rights

Through the Service settings or the customer support contact, users may make the following requests to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Access to personal information
Correction or deletion of personal information
Deletion of stored user content
Suspension of the processing of personal information
Withdrawal of consent
Account deletion
Data portability and the exercise of other rights where provided by applicable law

Users may also exercise rights through a legal representative or lawfully authorized agent.

When necessary, the Company may verify the requester’s identity and will handle requests within the time limits and according to the procedures prescribed by applicable law.

If the Company is required by law to restrict or deny all or part of a request, it will, to the extent possible, explain the reason and provide information on how to raise an objection.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Company may use cookies or similar technologies for the following purposes.

Maintaining login and sessions
Security and prevention of misuse
Remembering settings selected by the user
Analyzing service usage and improving the Service

Essential cookies

Session and authentication cookies — used to keep users signed in and to maintain the session
Security cookies — used to prevent misuse and to protect requests
analytics_consent — records the optional-analytics choice itself, retained for 365 days

Optional analytics cookies

analytics_id — an anonymous analytics identifier, retained for 365 days
analytics_first_touch — the first-touch acquisition source (UTM values, referrer host, and landing path), retained for 365 days

Neither optional cookie is issued before optional analytics is granted, and both are cleared when consent is withdrawn.

Furigana first-touch attribution — acquisition source, collected by the Company

Users can delete cookies or limit their storage through browser settings.

However, blocking cookies essential to login or security may prevent some features from operating normally.

If the Company uses optional analytics or similar technologies that are not essential to providing the Service, it will provide users with a means to opt out as required by applicable law.

Optional analytics can be refused or withdrawn at any time without losing access to any part of the Service, using the control below or the Cookie settings control in the site footer.

8. Protection of Personal Information

The Company applies reasonable safeguards appropriate to the scale of the Service and the nature of the information processed.

Primary safeguards include the following.

Encryption in transit
Secure handling of authentication information
Restricted access to personal information and user content
Access controls for databases and operational systems
Management of security and error logs as necessary

Authorized Company personnel may access user content and personal information on a limited basis only when necessary for customer support, troubleshooting, security incident investigations, or compliance with legal obligations.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

The Company may revise this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in applicable law or the Service.

When there is a material change, the Company gives notice through the Service, email, or another method before it takes effect and posts the changed content and effective date on this page.
